Kayan is back with our local version of the international 16 Days Campaign of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. In conjunction with a coalition of Arab human rights and feminist organizations, this year’s campaign focuses on femicide with the slogan, “My life is mine. Enough is enough!” This is especially important this year because of the unfortunate recent increase in cases of femicide. We will be conducting over 20 awareness workshops and rallies in Arab towns and villages over the course of 16 days, starting on the 25th of November. Our goal is to reduce these crimes and to weaken the patriarchal systems that allow for femicide. This year we stepped up our efforts in cooperation with our partners in Palestinian civil society. These partners will each carry out awareness-raising activities in order to send a clear and unified message that rejects the desecration of women's blood, freedom, and dignity.
We invite everyone to view the program of events and participate to ensure that we are successful in raising awareness and interest around this topic. It is literally a matter of life or death!
